YVAS Birdathon

The Birdathon is an annual event held each June coinciding with Montana’s peak migration.  This year the 2018 event will be a “Fun Raiser.”  This is an excellent way to develop bird identification skills and for Yellowstone Valley Audubon Society members to get involved in the organization.

The Birdathon is a competitive birding event which features teams of two or more persons, at least one of which needs to have bird identification skills.  Teams identify as many bird species as they can during a designated 24 hour period, usually the first weekend in June.  Bird lists are shared and tabulated together on completion of the event.

Persons who are interested in participating or who have questions should contact Ruth Vanderhorst at erv132@charter.net or 245-5118.  Watch the Yellowstone Flyer for more information and updates.
